Jimmy Fallon Game Night!

Today I’m SUPER excited to talk to you about my all time favorite game night activity we’ve ever had… and we have the awesome Jimmy Fallon to thank for that.

Jimmy Fallon Game Night!

Jimmy Fallon Date Night

If you are not a night owl or if you aren’t on social media, you are probably unaware of the many clever games Jimmy plays with his guest stars. You poor poor deprived person! These aren’t just silly/lame games he plays. These games are hilariously EPIC.

This is actually the second time my friends and I have planned this activity for our husbands because seriously… it’s so much fun and its definitely not your typical dinner and a movie date night. And the awesome thing is… is that its not difficult to plan at all! Even my nine month pregnant self was able to pull it off without a sweat. {Ok if we are honest, I was being pregnant and smashing eggs on my head, there MAY have been a little sweat.}

There were tons of games to choose from, but the ones we chose to do as a group were: Box of Lies, The Whisper Challenge and Russian Egg Roulette.

How it’s played:

Jimmy and his opponent take turns choosing a box with random objects inside. They are then instructed to describe what is in the box, or to lie–and the opponent must determine if they are telling the truth or if it’s a lie.

To prepare:

  1. Fashion a Box of Lies divider. We just used two trifold posters we got at the dollar store. Use an exacto knife to cut out a small window in each poster and done!
  2. Have each couple bring at least two boxes full of crazy and random things. Depending on how crazy you want to go, this could take a little extra planning, you can get really creative, which some of us did, or you could literally just grab random objects around the house (some of us did that too.) Make sure it has a lid or can be closed. You dont want anyone to see!
  3. Made sure you don;t chose your own boxes.

One thing I loved about playing against your spouse was really seeing if you know when they are lying or not. I, personally, am not a good liar and Gavin totally knew it. He on the other hand, had a pretty good poker face.

How it’s played:

Jimmy and his guest take turns wearing the noise canceling headphones and try to guess the phrase the other person is saying by reading their lips.

To prepare:

  1. Compile a list of phrases, song lyrics or movie quotes and put them in a hat (or box, or bag, whatev.) We used movie quotes. I had this prepared beforehand, but we had a table sitting nearby for people to submit more phrases because I knew we could potentially run out. I would also suggest having a second person help because it’s kind of lame if you already know all the phrases.
  2. Don’t forget the headphones and loud music so they cant hear you.

We debated the best way to go about timing ourselves since we only had a limited amount of phrases to read to one another so we opted that whoever could correctly guess the most phrases in three minutes would win. It’s actually super frustrating when you’re trying to guess and all you can focus on are the lyrics of the song you’re listening to.

How it’s played:

Jimmy and his guest star are presented with a carton of eggs. Some are boiled and some are raw. Each player must choose one egg at a time to smash them upon the top their head. The first one to receive two raw eggs, is out.

To prepare:

  1. Have each couple bring a dozen eggs. (8 boiled, 4 raw)
  2. Make sure you bring enough cleaning supplies to clean up the mess that will inevitably follow. But hey, egg is good for your hair, right?

Haha… you get the idea. I gotta tell ya… this game made us so anxious, but it was oh so much fun!

Well there you have it! That is how we did our Jimmy Fallon Game Night. It was so much fun and if you decide to do this with your group of friends or family, please tell me all about it.

Next time? You can bet we are planning our own lip sync battle. Bring. It. On.

See our night in action!

Have fun you crazy kids!
